We are pleased to announce Sarita Bakst as the newest member of CDO Magazine’s Global Board. Sarita is Senior Vice President and Chief Data Officer at TD Bank Group, responsible for shaping and executing the Bank’s enterprise data strategy – establishing trusted data, governing how it is owned and managed, and building the scalable data foundations required to power impactful, enterprise-wide analytics and AI. 

Since joining TD in 2024, she has focused on strengthening trusted data through enhanced data management and regulatory reporting, advancing AI-ready data, and accelerating the bank’s ability to deliver faster, more seamless, and trusted experiences for clients and colleagues.

A recognized leader in data governance and data management technology, Sarita brings deep expertise in building high-quality, scalable data ecosystems that support operational, analytical, AI and Agentic use cases. She is known for translating complex data strategies into measurable outcomes, helping organizations improve decision velocity, enhance controls, and drive efficiency across the enterprise.

Prior to TD, Sarita held senior leadership roles at JPMorganChase, Bank of America, and UBS, where she led global teams and delivered large-scale data transformation initiatives, with a strong focus on product adoption, client-centric design, and sustainable value creation.

Sarita is an active voice in the global data and AI community, contributing perspectives on data as a product and data mesh architectures, AI-ready data, and the evolving role of the Chief Data Officer. She is a frequent speaker and advisor across industry forums and has been recognized with multiple awards for her contributions to data and engineering leadership.

She is passionate about building data-driven cultures that balance innovation with trust, and reimagining how financial institutions serve clients in a rapidly evolving, AI-powered world. TD’s focus on combining human insight with digital innovation to deliver simpler, faster, and more personalized experiences is central to her work.

Sarita resides in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and children. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and exploring diverse cultures, histories, and perspectives.
