Salesforce has appointed Eric Hysen as Chief AI and Transformation Officer for Legal & Corporate Affairs. Hysen will work under the leadership of President and Chief Legal Officer Sabastian V Niles to advance the company’s strategic vision of “integrating artificial intelligence across legal, compliance, government and public affairs, and trusted agentics teams.”
“We’re at a pivotal moment in the adoption of AI. Organizations need to move fast and boldly, while keeping trust and responsibility at the core,” Hysen said in a LinkedIn post announcing his appointment. “I’m proud to join Salesforce, a company recognized for a deep commitment to ethical and human-centered use of AI and emerging technologies and trust.”
Hysen brings extensive public and private sector experience to Salesforce. Most recently, he served as Chief Information Officer and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where he led large-scale technology modernization, strengthened cybersecurity resilience, and launched the agency’s first AI pilots. He is also an Executive Fellow at UC Berkeley’s School of Information, focusing on AI governance practices.
Earlier in his career, Hysen was a founding member of the U.S. Digital Service and held product management and engineering roles at Google.
