The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has appointed Andy Ritter as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), according to his LinkedIn update. Ritter leads statewide efforts to strengthen cyber resilience, reduce risk, and maintain a consistent security posture across government agencies. He oversees enterprise cybersecurity programs, directs risk management, and ensures public services are delivered securely and efficiently.
Ritter, who previously served as Deputy CISO and Acting Chief Information Security Officer for the Commonwealth, brings more than 30 years of experience in cybersecurity and information technology. His career spans both public and private sectors, including leading cyber defense initiatives, implementing enterprise risk management programs, strengthening security operations, and advising executive leadership on risk and security investments. He has also managed responses to cyber incidents affecting critical systems and services.
Earlier in his career, Ritter held senior roles including Enterprise IT Security Risk Manager, Senior Cybersecurity & System Architect at Drayer Physical Therapy Institute, Director of IT at Bath Fitter, and President and CEO of R & R Networks, Inc., among other consulting and cybersecurity positions. He also served six years as a township supervisor, including four years as chairman.
