Vu Tran, Opendoor Chief AI Officer
Opendoor has named Vu Tran as Chief AI Officer, where he will help advance the company’s use of artificial intelligence in the homebuying and home-selling experience.
Tran joins Opendoor from Meta where he was part of their Superintelligence Labs. Prior to that, he was CEO of Boba.Video and previously led Snap Maps at Snap Inc. Earlier in his career, he held leadership and founder roles at Postmates, SlideMail, and TapIn.tv.
The appointment was announced by Opendoor CEO Kaz Nejatian on LinkedIn, stating, “I’ve been trying to recruit Vu Tran for 11 years. Today it finally happened. Vu is joining Opendoor as our Chief AI Officer. Vu is one of the most respected founder-engineers in tech — the rare person who has built at the highest level and earned the trust of everyone around them. Thrilled to have him.”
Sharing the news on LinkedIn, Tran said, “The way people buy and sell homes hasn’t fundamentally changed in decades. I believe AI is about to change that, saving real Americans real time and real money, and making homeownership more within reach. Homeowners put down roots. They invest in their families and their communities. A nation of homeowners is a stronger nation.”
