Nokia has appointed Pallavi Mahajan as Chief Technology and AI Officer, effective October 1. She will lead the company’s newly created Technology and AI Organization and join the Group Leadership Team.
Mahajan is recognized for her combination of deep technical expertise and commercial experience, with a career spanning AI, mobile, and edge computing. She has led large-scale, multi-billion-dollar product portfolios and brings more than two decades of leadership at the intersection of technology and business.
Reflecting on her new role, Mahajan said she is energized by Nokia’s role in building the networks that underpin AI. “AI is only as powerful as the infrastructure beneath it — the fast, reliable, sustainable, and scalable networks that allow it to learn, act, and scale in real time,” she said.
She also emphasized the importance of inclusive teams and solutions that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, noting that she looks forward to contributing to Nokia’s efforts across mobile, IP, and optical networks, cloud platforms, and Bell Labs research.
Mahajan began her career working on the foundations of the internet and described joining Nokia as a return to the heart of what makes modern connectivity possible.
