Nazia Shahrin, Fidelity Canada Vice President of Data, Architecture & Emerging Technology
(US and Canada) Fidelity Canada has appointed Nazia Shahrin as Vice President of Data, Architecture & Emerging Technology. In her new role, Shahrin will lead the company’s efforts across Data Analysis, Governance, and Architecture, as well as Technology Architecture and Emerging Technology, including AI and automation.
Shahrin shared the news in a recent LinkedIn post, stating, “Over the past 2.5 years, I’ve had the pleasure of spearheading growth within the Data Protection Office. Now, as the Vice President of Data, Architecture & Emerging Technology, I’ll be at the helm of Data (Analysis, Governance & Architecture), Technology Architecture, and Emerging Technology (AI & Automation). Looking forward to the new challenges ahead!”
Prior to this appointment, Shahrin served as Vice President of Architecture, Data Governance, and Data Protection at Fidelity Investments, where she played a pivotal role in strengthening data privacy and governance frameworks. She is known for applying an innovation- and engineering-focused approach to building robust data ecosystems with strong management capabilities and privacy by design.
In addition to her corporate leadership, Shahrin is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Information, where she teaches graduate-level courses in data governance. Her career spans capital markets, personal and commercial banking, and wealth management.
Shahrin is widely regarded as a data and transformation executive with a strong commitment to leveraging technology and data-driven capabilities to drive business results and enhance both client and employee experiences. She also holds a position on the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board, showcasing her contributions to the field of data.
