Murali Vridhachalam, Google VP of Enterprise Engineering, Product Strategy, Architecture, Data & AI
Google has appointed Murali Vridhachalam as Vice President of Enterprise Engineering, Product Strategy, Architecture, Data & AI. Vridhachalam is responsible for Google Corporate Engineering’s enterprise AI, enterprise data, enterprise platforms, and cross-portfolio architecture and standards, with a mandate to ensure the systems that power Google are innovative, flexible, and aligned with the company’s business goals.
“Looking forward to what we’ll build together as a team at Google,” Vridhachalam said in a LinkedIn post.
Prior to his latest role, Vridhachalam spent nearly five years at Gilead Sciences, most recently serving as Vice President and IT Head of Cloud, Data, and AI. There, he led a global organization of more than 500 professionals and was responsible for enterprise-wide cloud, data, and AI platform strategy, enterprise architecture, and large-scale transformation programs supporting the pharmaceutical value chain.
Earlier in his career, Vridhachalam held multiple senior leadership and engineering roles at IBM, including Executive Director and Head of Engineering for Hybrid Cloud Data Platform and AI Solutions, Distinguished Engineer at Watson Health, and CTO and Executive Director for Quote-to-Cash Analytics. He began his career at IBM, where he spent more than 17 years in various engineering and leadership positions.
