Richard White, McKinsey & Company CDO
(US and Canada) McKinsey & Company has appointed Richard White as its firm-wide Chief Data Officer. In this role, White leads a global team of experts specializing in platform engineering, data analytics, machine learning, business intelligence, AI governance, and data product management. Together, they drive McKinsey’s data and analytics journey end-to-end, transforming insights into impactful strategies and business-focused, tech-enabled solutions for the firm and its clients.
White brings extensive expertise as a leader in data, technology, and business. He has led transformative initiatives, including the shift to cloud-based platforms using solutions like AWS, resulting in significant efficiency gains and business impacts. His work consistently focuses on unifying cross-functional teams to harness data value while prioritizing quality, governance, and regulatory compliance.
Prior to joining McKinsey, White served as Chief Data Officer at New York Life Insurance Company, where he guided enterprise-wide data strategies. He has also held senior leadership roles, including Vice President of Enterprise Data Management at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and Director of Enterprise Data Governance at Citi.
