Mustafa Husain, McDonald’s U.S. Chief Information Officer
McDonald’s has appointed Mustafa Husain as Senior Vice President and U.S. Chief Information Officer, effective May 1, as part of its ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation across the U.S. business.
Husain brings extensive experience within McDonald’s, having spent the past five years leading key technology initiatives. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Restaurant Technology Engineering, where he oversaw innovation and engineering efforts for the company’s global restaurant platform.
His work has included advancing crew-focused solutions, such as improving and standardizing point-of-sale systems across markets, and helping establish foundational capabilities for future restaurant technology. He has also collaborated with internal teams and external partners on AI-enabled solutions designed to enhance restaurant operations.
Husain succeeds Valerie Ashbaugh, who will be leaving the company at the end of April after five years with McDonald’s. During her tenure, she held global and market technology leadership roles and contributed to major advancements in the company’s consumer and restaurant technology platforms.
With his global experience and background in scaling technology solutions, Husain is expected to further strengthen innovation, reliability, and operational performance across McDonald’s U.S. technology landscape, supporting owner/operators, crew members, and customers.
