Mark Given Named Chief Technology, Marketing and Data Officer at Sainsbury’s

Mark Given, Sainsbury’s Chief Technology, Marketing and Data Officer

Sainsbury’s has announced that, effective 1 September 2025, Mark Given will assume the role of Chief Technology, Marketing and Data Officer. In this expanded position, he will lead Technology, Data and Insights, Marketing, and Nectar 360, reflecting the company’s focus on integrating engineering, AI, loyalty, and customer engagement to enhance customer experience and unlock growth opportunities.

Given joined Sainsbury’s in 2012, becoming Marketing Director in 2017 and Chief Marketing Officer in 2019, with responsibility for marketing and loyalty across the Sainsbury’s, Argos, Tu Clothing, and Habitat brands. He has also overseen the Nectar loyalty coalition and Nectar360 media business since 2018, led sustainability initiatives under the Plan for Better strategy, and will now head the business-wide Data & Analytics capability. His earlier career includes senior roles at O2, Heineken UK, and nine years at Procter & Gamble in brand management and innovation.
