Legal & General, a U.K. financial services group, has named Jamie Ovenden Group Chief Technology, Data, and Innovation Officer. Ovenden will report to Group CEO António Simões and join the company’s Group Management Committee.

Ovenden most recently served as Chief Technology Officer at Schroders. He previously served as Global Head of Enterprise Technology, Digital Technology, and Innovation at the company.

Commenting on the appointment in a LinkedIn post, Simões said, “Jamie joins us from Schroders and brings with him a strong track record of driving innovation particularly digital transformation and value at scale – which are central to drive the next phase of L&G’s growth.”

Earlier in his career, Ovenden held technology leadership roles at Arcadia Group, including Digital and Retail Technology Director and Digital IT Director. He also served as Group IT Director at The Dune Group.
