Kirsten Davies, Department of Defense CIO

(US and Canada) U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated Kirsten Davies for the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) at the U.S. Department of Defense, according to a notice in the Congressional Record.

If confirmed by the Senate, she would replace Katie Arrington, who has served in the role in an acting capacity since March.

Davies is currently the founder and CEO of the Institute for Cyber, a nonprofit focused on enhancing digital safety and integrity for citizens in their daily use of technology, AI, and data.

Previously, she has served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Unilever and Estée Lauder Companies. Prior to that, she held executive cybersecurity positions at Barclays Africa, Hewlett-Packard, and Siemens.

She has a bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Puget Sound.
