Deep Thomas, JPMorganChase Chief Data and Analytics Officer, APAC
JPMorganChase has named Deep Thomas as its Chief Data and Analytics Officer for the Asia-Pacific region. Thomas will oversee the firm’s regional data and AI strategy, with responsibilities spanning governance, regulatory compliance, risk management, and data-driven transformation initiatives.
Thomas brings more than 25 years of international experience in data, AI, and digital transformation, having established and scaled analytics organizations across global financial institutions and large conglomerates.
Most recently, he served as Group Chief Data and Analytics Officer at Nomura, where he led the firm’s enterprise-wide data and AI program, strengthening governance frameworks and expanding AI adoption to support both risk and business outcomes.
Prior to Nomura, Thomas directed major digital and AI initiatives at Aditya Birla Group and Tata Group, where he built analytics teams from the ground up, launched proprietary AI platforms, and contributed to significant business impact across multiple industries. His earlier career includes leadership positions at Citigroup, HSBC, and American Express, where he managed large analytics teams and advanced AI-driven business strategies.
Thomas holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science, an MBA in International Marketing, and a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems from Arizona State University. He is also credited with more than 20 patents in data strategy, AI innovation, and analytics. He holds a position on the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board, showcasing his contributions to the field of data.
