Joe Miranda, Gannett Chief Technology and Data Officer
(US and Canada) Media company Gannett Co. has announced the appointment of Joe Miranda as its new Chief Technology and Data Officer. Miranda will lead the company’s efforts in adopting emerging technologies — including AI, machine learning, and big data analytics — to enhance digital media and marketing solutions across the organization.

This journey will harness innovation and emerging technologies to drive revenue growth, expand markets, preserve journalism, and deliver lasting value to customers.”
Miranda brings more than 25 years of experience in global digital strategy and enterprise development, with a strong track record in modernizing technology infrastructures and advancing AI-driven analytics. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Herbalife, where he led the development of a scalable platform ecosystem, integrated AI capabilities, and enhanced digital user experiences. His previous leadership roles include positions at Thomson Reuters, Voya Financial, GE Capital, and Nielsen, where he spearheaded digital transformation initiatives.
Michael Reed, Chairman and CEO of Gannett, welcomed the appointment, stating: “We are thrilled to welcome Joe, who brings deep technical expertise and a strong background in transforming organizations for growth. Miranda holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications from Towson University. He began reporting to CEO Michael Reed following the effective date of his appointment on Monday, June 23.
