IndusInd Bank Limited, a major private sector bank in India, has appointed Balaji Narayanamurthy as Chief Data Officer (CDO). He joins the bank’s senior management team, bringing over 25 years of experience in banking, data analytics, technology, and artificial intelligence.

Prior to joining IndusInd, Narayanamurthy held leadership positions at Axis Bank, serving as President and Head of the Business Intelligence Unit and as Head of Enterprise AI. He also served on the board of FreeCharge Payment Technologies. Earlier in his career, he gained experience in the U.S. credit card sector, working with Barclay Card US, Capital One, and Citi Bank India.

Narayanamurthy holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from IIT Chennai and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Lucknow. His appointment is expected to support IndusInd Bank’s data-driven strategies and digital transformation efforts.
