(APAC) Indian commercial bank IDBI Bank has appointed Binit Jha as Chief Data Officer, entrusting him with leading its data management strategy. Based in Mumbai, Jha will focus on governance, quality, and enforcing robust data policies to enhance operational efficiency and support data-driven decision-making. His role includes establishing enterprise-wide data standards, implementing governance frameworks, and optimizing information management processes.

With extensive experience in business performance dashboards, modernization of tools, and vendor management, Jha is set to drive IDBI Bank’s digital transformation initiatives. His expertise in integrating data into decision-making processes will support the bank’s strategic goals and reinforce its position as a leader in data-driven banking.

Before joining IDBI, Jha was Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, where he played a key role in establishing a Center of Excellence for Data Strategy. His work encompassed data monetization, risk mitigation, and automation. He also introduced frameworks such as Data-as-a-Service and advanced data quality models. His career includes leadership roles at UBS and Bank of America, where he contributed to data lake development, automation tools, and digital transformation projects.

Jha began his career at Lehman Brothers, where he gained experience in application development and data warehousing. Over the years, he has honed his expertise in technology, innovation, and talent development, mentoring high-performing teams and designing strategic hiring programs.
