The General Services Administration (GSA) has appointed Lauren Bracey Scheidt to serve as the new assistant commissioner at the Technology Transformation Services Office of Solutions.

“Lauren’s understanding of TTS’ technical and business operations along with her deep background in software product development make her a unique match for the needs of TTS,” Mukunda Penugonde, Deputy Director of TTS said in an announcement to all agency staff.

In her new position, Scheidt will focus on expanding the agency's technological capabilities, while also enhancing existing offerings such as Login.gov and Cloud.gov within the GSA.

Scheidt has been at GSA for nearly three years and previously served as a senior advisor. Prior to that, she worked for National Public Radio (NPR), her last role being Senior Director of Product.

She has a bachelor's degree from Denison University and a master's degree from the University of Oregon.

Last year, GSA appointed its chief data scientist Zach Whitman as the agency’s Chief Artificial Intelligence officer (CAIO).
