Gerdau Promotes Rodrigo Silveira as Chief Data and AI Officer

(LATAM) Leading global steel producer Gerdau has promoted Rodrigo Silveira as its Chief Data and AI Officer. In this role, Silveira is responsible for translating business needs into data and AI strategy, promoting AI and data literacy within the organization, and ensuring the delivery of reliable and high-quality solutions.

He is also responsible for managing the data and data science team, driving the data and AI roadmap, and adopting new technologies. Silveira previously served as Head of Analytics and Data Science Manager. He is a seasoned data and machine learning expert with a passion for crafting innovative data products.

With over 12 years of experience in analytics, Silveira has honed his skills in various domains. He is deeply involved in data-driven projects, where he spearheads the implementation of a data-driven organizational culture. His focus lies in promoting data democratization, fostering adherence to this culture, and providing comprehensive training to stakeholders.

His extensive skill set includes Product Management, Technical Leadership, Business Intelligence (BI), Machine Learning (ML), Cloud Computing (especially AWS), Python programming, SQL, MLOPS, SAP Analytics, and Big Data technologies, such as Datalake and Spark.
