Michael McCabe, DOD Office Chief Data and AI Officer

(US and Canada) The U.S. Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence and Security, housed under the Department of Defense (DOD) has recently appointed Michael McCabe as its Chief Data and Artificial Intelligence Officer (CDAIO).

In his new role, McCabe will develop data, analytics, and AI strategies and policies that align with his organization’s digital transformation goals. Previously, he was Deputy Chief Data Officer at DOD. He joined the department in 2007 and over the years, has held multiple positions.

Before joining the Defense Department, McCabe served nearly two decades in the U.S. Army. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from King’s College and studied national security strategy at the National War College.
