(US and Canada) Data security company Cyera has appointed Sol Rashidi as its new Chief Strategy Officer for Data and AI. With a distinguished background spanning leadership roles at Amazon, Estee Lauder, Merck, Sony Music, and IBM, Rashidi brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise data and AI. 

At IBM, she played a key role in launching IBM Watson and made history as the first Chief Data & AI Officer. She also holds several patents and is widely acknowledged as one of the most influential figures in data and technology.

“I’m stepping into a new mission-driven era: to ensure AI happens with us, not to us,” said Rashidi. “Cyera is the right place to pursue that purpose. We’re securing what matters most: our data and our people, so that AI can scale our empathy, intelligence, and creativity, not diminish it. This isn’t just a career move. It’s a calling.”

In her new role, Rashidi will be responsible for guiding Cyera’s overall strategy at the intersection of data, AI, and trust. Her focus will be on helping organizations adopt AI in a secure and responsible way — grounded in strong data governance and integrity.

Rashidi holds a position on the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board, showcasing her contributions to the field of data.
