Shahzad Alam, Citi Singapore Chief Data Officer
Citi Singapore has appointed Shahzad Alam Chief Data Officer (CDO). Alam shared the career move in a LinkedIn post. Before taking on the CDO role, Alam served as Director, Data Analytics, Banking & International at Citi, where he drove the company’s global analytics strategy to deliver commercial impact, operational excellence, and regulatory compliance while leveraging generative AI to drive innovation, elevate productivity, and reinforce control frameworks.
Earlier, he was Head of Data and Digitization, Markets and Securities Services Asia Pacific, partnering across Citi businesses, functions, and external innovation networks to rapidly ideate, test, and scale analytics capabilities delivering significant revenue impact.
Prior to those roles, Alam served as Senior Vice President, Global Markets Technology – Commodities at Citi, where he led the technology and data strategy supporting the company’s commodities business across physical trading, index, oil, base metals, LNG, agriculture, and precious metals markets. Earlier in his career, he held technology and trading roles at Credit Suisse, TD Securities, and ABN AMRO, with experience spanning fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities, and money markets.
