Johnathan Tate, Bridgestone Americas CDAO
(US and Canada) Bridgestone Americas, a Nashville-based subsidiary of Bridgestone Corporation, has appointed Johnathan Tate as Vice President and Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO).
At Bridgestone, Tate is responsible for developing and leading the company’s data, analytics, and AI strategy and initiatives that drive business value.
“My role encompasses broad responsibilities, including oversight of enterprise data platforms, SAP data platforms, AI and advanced analytics, as well as data governance and API automation teams across the Americas and EMEA geographies. Collectively, this forms the strategic center of competence for data, analytics, and AI at Bridgestone,” he told CDO Magazine.
Tate is a seasoned data and IT leader with experience across global and local enterprises, with 26 years in IT and 14 in data leadership spanning Cat Financial, Deloitte, Louisiana Pacific, Walmart, and Nike, among other companies.
“Some of my most significant impacts have been at Walmart, Nike Global, and Louisiana Pacific. In each of these roles, I stepped into environments where either no clear data strategy existed or the existing one lacked effectiveness. At Walmart and Nike especially, I led the development of comprehensive data and analytics strategies — collaborating with business leaders, partners, and consultants — to ensure alignment with organizational goals. I also built lean, efficient, and customer-focused data organizations that delivered measurable value,” Tate added.
Tate has a BBA from the University of Arkansas. Beyond his role, he participates in multiple executive roundtables and mentors emerging leaders through the ELITE mentorship program.
