Marc Camus, BNP Paribas Group CIO
(EMEA) Leading banking and financial services provider BNP Paribas has appointed Marc Camus as Chief Information Officer (CIO). He succeeds Bernard Gavgani and joins the BNP Paribas Executive Committee, reporting to Philippe Maillard, Chief Operating Officer.
As CIO, Camus will oversee the bank’s IT strategy, working closely with BNP Paribas’ business lines, functions, and IT teams. His responsibilities include ensuring IT system security, enhancing operational efficiency across the Group, and advancing the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing to improve the customer experience.
Camus has been with BNP Paribas since 1996, holding several leadership roles in IT and operations. Since January 2019, he has served as CIO of BNP Paribas Fortis in Belgium. Prior to that, he was Head of CIB Payments and Cash Management IT & Operations from 2014 to 2018 and Chief Operating Officer for CIB IT & Operations Europe from 2012 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he held various roles in operations and project management at Fortis Bank in Brussels during its integration into BNP Paribas. He began his career at Banque Indosuez Belgique.
