ANZ Appoints Donald Patra as Group Chief Information Officer

Donald Patra, ANZ Group Chief Information Officer

Banking and financial services major ANZ has named Donald Patra as its new Group Chief Information Officer (CIO). He will join the bank’s Group Executive Committee and report directly to Chief Executive Officer Nuno Matos.

Patra brings over three decades of global leadership experience in technology and financial services. He joins ANZ from HSBC, where he most recently served as CIO for the United Kingdom and Europe. During his more than 20-year tenure at HSBC, he also held CIO positions across Asia, the Americas, and Europe, leading large-scale transformation programs focused on modernizing banking infrastructure, advancing data and AI initiatives, and strengthening operational resilience in regulated markets.

Based in Melbourne, Patra will officially assume the role on November 24, 2025. Until then, Michael Bullock will continue to serve as Acting Group Executive, Technology & Group Services.
