(US and Canada) American Express has appointed Chris Gifford as SVP – Deputy Chief Data Officer, Enterprise Data Governance and Platforms. Gifford will focus on advancing enterprise data governance and developing platforms to drive innovation and growth across the organization.
“I’m truly grateful for this opportunity to join such an amazing company that has Data in its DNA, and to work alongside a team of truly talented professionals. I’ve already received such a warm welcome from Pascale Hutz and the entire Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions team. Their commitment to driving success through meaningful application of data-driven products, experiences, and customer benefits is inspiring,” shared Gifford in a LinkedIn post.
Before joining American Express, Gifford spent 10 years at USAA Bank, where he served as Chief Data and Analytics Officer and played a key role in advancing the organization’s data strategy. During his tenure, he contributed to significant milestones in data and analytics, while building lasting professional relationships and supporting USAA’s mission of serving military service members and their families.
In closing his announcement, Gifford emphasized his enthusiasm for the future: “To my new colleagues at American Express: I’m eager to hit the ground running and contribute to the exciting work ahead. To my network: I’m always open to connecting, collaborating, and sharing insights. Let’s continue to inspire and grow together!”
