(US and Canada) Allied World, a global provider of insurance and reinsurance solutions, has appointed Joe Vellaiparambil as Vice President, Data and Analytics. Vellaiparambil previously served as Chief Data and Analytics Officer at AXA, where he led the development, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise data strategy to position AXA Equitable as a data-driven company.

Vellaiparambil championed the monetization of data assets to create a competitive advantage and collaborated with business units to identify and implement analytical capabilities that enhanced revenue growth and profitability. Additionally, he leveraged data to improve the customer experience. At AXA, he played a key role in aligning analytics with business strategy, driving growth, and optimizing performance.

With a strong background in business transformation, big data architecture, and cognitive analytics, Vellaiparambil has led initiatives that streamlined operations and generated significant cost savings. His expertise spans data management, open-source solutions, and various analytical tools, including MicroStrategy, Cognos, Qlik, Teradata, SAS, R, and Python.
