AllianceBernstein Announces Andrew Chin as CAIO

(US and Canada) Global investment firm AllianceBernstein L.P. (AB) announced the appointment of Andrew Chin as its inaugural Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer (CAIO).

Chin, a 27-year veteran of AB and a member of its operating committee, previously served as Head of Investment Solutions and Sciences. His career at AB includes roles such as Head of Quantitative Research, Chief Data Scientist, and a decade-long tenure as Chief Risk Officer.

Karl Sprules, AB’s Chief Operating Officer, commented on Chin’s appointment: “Andrew’s new role reflects AB’s advancements in AI and its potential for the future. As AI continues to significantly impact AB’s investment research, operational processes, and overall efficiencies, we are confident in Andrew’s leadership to guide us forward.”

Chin expressed his perspective on the role: “This position marks not only a milestone in my career at AB but also underscores the expanding influence of data science and AI in financial services. I am eager to collaborate across teams and leadership to leverage AI’s capabilities in delivering enhanced outcomes for our clients.”

A Cornell University graduate with a BA in Mathematics and Computer Science and an MBA in Finance, Chin will remain based in New York where he has been pivotal in AB’s offices since joining in 1997.
