(APAC) We are pleased to welcome Alicja Mosbauer to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Mosbauer is Special Advisor for Data Governance at the Australian Government Department of Veterans’​ Affairs.

Prior to the role, Mosbauer served as Chief Data Officer at IP Australia. In this role, she focused on enhancing organizational capabilities in data-related activities and driving change in areas such as data governance and data literacy. Mosbauer spearheaded the development of a modern data analytics platform, transforming how the organization engages with data and analytics. Additionally, she worked across government agencies to strengthen data capabilities. She also chaired the Generative AI Working Group.

Known for her leadership, Mosbauer has cultivated a results-oriented culture, encouraging strong communication, relationship management, and problem-solving skills within her teams. As an innovation leader, she has guided cross-functional teams in achieving significant business innovation goals, particularly through the application of design thinking principles. Her tenure has also included pioneering work in generative AI, setting the foundation for its ethical and strategic integration into data frameworks.

At a strategic level, Mosbauer has engaged with C-Suite stakeholders, contributing to the development of data governance frameworks and strategies. Her efforts have led to significant improvements in data governance, metadata management, and data quality, underscoring her commitment to excellence and innovation within the public service sector.
