Merck Group has appointed Alessandro de Luca as Head of Digital Enterprise Solutions and Group Chief Information Officer (CIO). He announced the new role on LinkedIn, stating, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Head of Digital Enterprise Solutions and Group CIO at Merck Group!”

De Luca has been with Merck Group since 2012. Most recently, he served as Group CIO, Head of Information Technology. Prior to that, he held roles including CIO for Merck Healthcare and Senior Vice President, Head of Global Supply Network Operations. Earlier in his career, he served as Vice President, Global Supply Chain at Merck Serono.

Before joining Merck, de Luca worked at Procter & Gamble for nearly in various leadership positions, including Supply Network Operation Director, Innovation Program A. Director, and WE Customer Service & Logistics Director.

His professional background includes responsibilities in information technology, supply chain operations, and innovation. He has worked in multiple countries, including Spain, Switzerland, and Germany.

De Luca’s stated focus is on delivering and implementing digital solutions for customers and patients globally.
