(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Tony Williams to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Williams is Vice President, Head of Data and Analytics for Amerant Bank. He is an experienced data executive with over 25 years of leading global teams, transforming and creating data insights and products.

Williams is responsible for providing data-driven decision-making to the forefront of Amerant’s business strategy by implementing advanced analytics, statistical methods, and prescriptive insights to drive business performance in support, operational, and sales areas. He is also responsible for driving the strategy to implement and maintain a robust data governance program, and functional and technical data architecture.

Prior to his current role, he served as Chief Data Strategist at GM where he led a Data Strategy, Products, and Platform team responsible for an enterprise initiative to institutionalize data assets and use cases for cloud adoption of GM’s data and data science modeling. In addition, he led Charles Schwab Bank’s Platforms and Data Governance. While working with American Express and General Motors, he led program office activities and instituted a new portfolio operating model for data initiatives, prioritization, and steering committee updates.

Williams also actively engages with the community and has served on various boards and championed local events for GM’s disability network. In addition, he is currently serving on the Board for Mindfulness First as a Business and Community OWL for advancing knowledge and skills in children and adults for lifelong mental health wellbeing.
