(Africa) Nollie Maoto, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at FNB South Africa, has been awarded the much-coveted “CDO of The Year” for 2022 for the Southern African region by Finnovex, a leading summit on financial services innovation. 

Maoto is a member of the CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board, and is the Chief Data Officer Ambassador for South Africa, as appointed by MIT CDOIQ, the International Society of Chief Data Officers, and CDO Magazine.

Maoto hopes that her award will inspire other women in the field of data analytics. “I would truly like to see more women in the financial services industry nominated for these awards going forward. I work with these phenomenal, amazing talented women daily so I know they exist and that their abilities are top class. I will do my part to continue to shine the light upon them, too, as they lead and disrupt (through) innovation and excellence, using technology to address challenges and leverage opportunities by improving user experience and changing the way businesses operate,” Maoto wrote on LinkedIn.
