(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Jason Duke to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Duke has served as the Chief Data Officer for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service since 2018. He began his career with the Federal Government in 1990. Duke has focused on IT, data management, and Geographic Information Systems at the federal level. He has served as an adjunct professor at Tennessee Tech University for 26 years.
At the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Duke leads an enterprise data management team and a data governance board that addresses a broad scope of data-related issues. His focus is on preserving the legacy of staff-collected data, making that data accessible to current and future generations and to the American public.
Duke recently completed his doctorate in information quality and a master’s in information quality from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Before that, he completed his MBA in Information Systems and a bachelor’s degree in management information systems from Tennessee Tech University. Duke graduated from the Southeastern School of Banking at Vanderbilt and received two diplomas from the American Bankers Association. He maintains 12 industry certifications in the IT and auditing field.
Duke serves as the lead Geographic Information Systems Specialist for the Pacific Northwest Interagency Team 3, a Type 1 Incident Management Team, and spends several months each year working wildfires in the United States.
