(US and Canada) EMD Serono, the U.S. healthcare business of global biotech company Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, has appointed Suresh Martha as Head of Data-Driven Innovation and Analytics.
In his new role, Suresh will lead a high-tech team of data scientists, data engineers, and analysts with expertise in data-driven innovation and analytics to continue advancing a data-driven culture across EMD Serono’s healthcare business. His team will be responsible for developing high-standard creative and innovative data reports, analyses, dashboards, and AI/Machine Learning advanced data models to generate insights from complex data.
Suresh plans to drive his team to provide strategic insights, hidden patterns, linkages, and tactical guidance by implementing context-driven and domain-relevant analytics while identifying business opportunities and mitigating threats, by systematically mining tons of data and navigating data change management and data governance, and by successfully leveraging data as a strategic asset. Suresh has been recognized for his extraordinary contributions at EMD with EMD’s President’s Award in 2019.
“The world has been generating data at an exponential speed, where big data is growing and becoming even bigger. And I believe through new, evolving, and innovative AI/ML models, data can be used to its highest potential to answer key business questions for growth, development, and success,” Suresh said.
Prior to this role, Suresh was Associate Director of BI Reporting and Analytics, leading the data warehouse and Tableau reporting platforms at EMD Serono. Before joining EMD Serono, Suresh held many IT leadership roles and developed data-driven solutions at CGI, Collaborative Consulting, Carbonite Inc and Tech Mahindra. Suresh has over 17 years of experience in data warehousing and in Business Intelligence (BI).
