(Europe) Danske Bank, the largest bank in Denmark and a major retail bank in northern Europe, has named Niresh Rajah Group Chief Data Officer. Rajah is a highly experienced executive leader in the financial services and consulting industry, having worked in this field for 20 years. He has focused on data, regulation, automation, innovation, and transformation.
Before joining Danske Bank, Rajah served as Managing Director, Head of Data, RegTech & Digital Advisory Practice at Grant Thornton UK LLP. He has also led numerous capabilities and initiatives as Deputy Chief Data Officer at Barclays UK. His responsibilities included managing regulatory change developments, and execution, data management and governance, data-driven solutions, automation of controls, and the reg-tech capability (Innovation Hub).
Rajah has also managed major complex regulatory and data programs at the board level, such as Brexit changes and GDPR. He has worked with regulators across Europe and has extensive experience dealing with complex regulatory topics, including data management, data privacy and protection, conduct and prudential regulation, and Brexit and GDPR.
With over 5 million retail customers, Danske Bank is a Danish multinational banking and financial services corporation headquartered in Copenhagen.
