Besa Bauta, The Jewish Board CIO
(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Besa Bauta, Ph.D., to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Bauta is Chief Information Officer at Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services where her wealth of experience is essential to creating IT infrastructure that supports their overall strategic goals and objectives.
Prior to joining The Jewish Board, Bauta served as Chief Data and Analytics Officer at the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, where she oversaw digitization, information infrastructure, data governance, and data assets for this US$ 2.6 billion state agency. She has also held the Chief Analytics Officer role at Precision Human Services (PHS) and worked as Chief Data and Compliance Officer for MercyFirst, a non-profit human services agency where she led its artificial intelligence, machine learning, business intelligence solutions, quality improvement, and patient compliance processes.
Bauta also has deep experience in public health. She has earned a doctorate in Health Services Research, with her dissertation examining parental mistreatment and child health outcomes in Uganda; an MPH with a concentration in Epidemiology, Health Promotion, and Disease Prevention; and an MSW, all earned at NYU.
Additionally, Bauta is a licensed master social worker in New York (LMSW) and New Jersey (LSW) and was also licensed as an LMSW in Texas. She serves as an adjunct professor at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work and Global Institute of Public Health, where she teaches clinical, public health, and research methods courses, and is also a Lecturer in Public Health at Baylor University’s Robbins College of Health and Human Services.
