Chathuri Daluwatte, Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease Head of AI Diagnostics, Joins CDO Magazine Global Editorial Board

(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Chathuri Daluwatte to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Daluwatte leads AI Diagnostics at Alexion AstraZeneca Rare Disease. She is an experienced executive, change agent, and thought leader specializing in AI in life sciences. Her expertise lies in using AI for drug and diagnostics development in both the medical device and pharmaceutical industry and regulation at FDA.

Daluwatte is an expert in machine learning, cloud-based MLOps, agile product development, design thinking, digital business development, software as a medical device (SaMD), designing organizational structures, and building high-performance teams for technology delivery.

Over the years, Daluwatte has garnered several notable recognitions and achievements, recognized as Top 25 Women in AI: US Healthcare & Pharma Edition – Re.Work in 2022, Awards for Best Use of Digital Technology at Sanofi (2021), Clinical and Translational Science (CTS) Award from Clinical and Translational Science Editorial Team (2021), Young Investigator at 14th Global Cardio-Vascular Clinical Trials Forum (2017), Excellence in Mentorship at US Food and Drug Administration (2017), and Award for Enhancing Patient Safety for number one medical device hazard at US Food and Drug Administration (2015).

Furthermore, Daluwatte is deeply engaged in the AI leadership community building collaborations between the tech industry, biotech and pharmaceuticals, and healthcare sectors to realize value to patients and caregivers via AI. She serves as an Advisory Board Member, mentor, frequent speaker, and panelist at AI in healthcare conferences and roundtables.
