(US and Canada) We are pleased to welcome Aravind Jagannathan to CDO Magazine’s Global Editorial Board. Aravind “Jag” Jagannathan is Vice President and Chief Data Officer for Single-Family’s Strategic Delivery, Data, Operations, and Technology division at Freddie Mac. He is responsible for the overall data strategy, governance, execution, integration, data product ownership, and business intelligence for Single-Family. He also manages all shared assets for the company, including modernization.

Jagannathan recently took on an expanded leadership role and has been tasked with developing an enterprise-wide data strategy to gain maximum value from Freddie Mac’s data assets. In early 2023, he was appointed to the Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization (MISMO) Board of Directors.

Prior to his current role, Jagannathan was responsible for external transformation which included the overall integration of Freddie Mac to the Common Securitization Platform, a joint venture between Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Specifically, this included overall budget, schedule, scope, and testing to ensure Freddie Mac’s requirements were fully met and there was a successful launch of Uniform Mortgage-Backed Securities (UMBS).

With over 30 years of experience, Jagannathan has worked as a senior-level leader in financial services covering operations, accounting, large scale transformation, and system implementations. Before joining Freddie Mac, he was head of treasury operations at the World Bank, where he was responsible for all operational activities in the bank’s Treasury division. He has held management positions at Bank of Boston, ING Barings, and JPMorgan Chase, within each of these firms’ capital markets and treasury divisions.
