(Latin America) Afinz, a Brazilian fintech company, has appointed Nelson Chieh as Chief Data Officer. The company offers a wide range of credit products and other financial services for consumers and retailers throughout Brazil.

Chieh is a proven leader with over 20 years of experience in data and technology. He has extensive experience in various fields of business such as retail bank, credit card, mortgage, wholesale and private bank investment, credit and operational risk management, Basel II & RDA, capital allocation (regulatory & economic) risk IT, analytical modeling cycle management, CRM and corporate management.

Before joining Afinz, Chieh was the Head of Data, Advanced Analytics & Martech at Natura. He specializes in BIG data ecosystem, analytics data and environment, corporate data governance, business intelligence, information technology, system development, project management, software engineering, people management, change management, coaching and mentoring, waterfall and SCRUM/Agile.

Chieh currently serves as the Country Ambassador for Brazil in the MIT global program of Chief Data Officer & Information Quality.
