(US and Canada) Philip Dutton, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of Solidatus, speaks with Baz Khuti, President at US Modak, about Solidatus’ role in enabling efficient cloud migration and the need for organizations to understand and identify the value of their data.
Speaking on how Solidatus helps with the complexity of the cloud and the cost of it, he says that the cloud is only cheap if done right. He explains that Solidatus acts as the design tool that enables organizations to understand what they have on-prem and then design what the cloud should be so that they can make efficient choices of how to move data to the cloud. He explains that Solidatus helps organizations in understanding cloud storage effectively and making decisions from an educated position so that they can start classifying what they have.
He then sheds light on the need for partnering with an ecosystem for success. As an example, he says that while Solidatus is the one-stop shop for many capabilities it doesn’t specialize in areas like data quality profiling.
Further, Dutton highlights the leadership qualities and cultural values side of things and says that while technology is an enabler organizations need the right leadership and culture to embrace it. They need to look at data as a fundamental building block of an organization and the underpinning of everything that they do.
Elaborating, he explains that Solidatus treats everything as data right from the people directory, what they can access, the regulations, etc. Dutton concludes by saying that Solidatus is designed to model the interaction between all the different data points.
