(Oceania) Bruno Pereira, former Director of Data, Product, and Strategy, Foxtel Group, speaks with Savio Rodrigues, VP-Client Membership, Trianz, and CDO Magazine Editorial Board Member, about the importance of data structures and transforming organizational mindsets.

Pereira says that data structure is one of the most critical components of a company. He explains that since data drives organizations toward future technology products, etc., it is essential to have someone on the board of directors. He stresses that Chief Data Analytics Officers should report to the CEO and be able to provide unbiased information to support the business and make the right decision.

He then speaks about the challenges of getting development teams and key stakeholders on the same page. Pereira says the biggest challenge was to combine ideas from the business and implement them. Data teams need to report the correct data, so Foxtel created the Analytics Enablement Lead role to bridge the gap between the business and the technical side. He gets everyone at the table to discuss the pain points during short sessions.

Sharing his views on the issue of transforming organizational mindsets, he says that it is a process of education. He highlights resilience, patience, and perseverance as the three key reasons behind Foxtel’s success in the data space.
