White Castle has been in business for over a hundred years and is a private family-owned company with the fourth generation of leadership.

She reveals that with a high average tenure the approach of building people and getting them where they need to be has worked well for the organization.

Caroll-Boser mentions that the organization has a collaborative culture and is big on partnerships. She says that collaborative partnership can actually help in doing things much bigger.

Speaking about the shift in the digital transformation post COVID she reveals that a lot of strategies and projects had to be halted due to COVID. She mentions partners like MasterCard and Misa Robotics that allowed the teams to stay on top of things.

While some projects had to be deprioritized, it allowed the organization to push ahead with customer-facing aspects and longer-term motivations.

Caroll-Boser recalls situations when vendors couldn't do integrations, etc. and the in-house teams had to do things on their own. She says that it was also nice to know that self-sufficiency was still in the organization’s DNA.

Concluding, she speaks about changing customer behavior with data, marketing, and operations teams trying to meet customers where they are to be efficient and better at that.
