To what extent does our recreational use of technology drive innovation in business? Is business taking the lead or lagging behind?

“I immediately think of Pokémon Go. My own kids have gone crazy with it, so it has taken over my house. I did a little bit of research and have been talking to the principals of our schools about this. It was released on July 6th – exactly 30 days ago – and think about how it has transformed people’s daily lives, for good or for bad, in 30 days. So we are asking, how we can do that in education, how can we transform teaching and learning with one act? What made that so viral, what gets people out and about, visiting locations and changing their daily habits all for a game?  How can we do that in education? Is it gamification? Colleagues around the country are tweeting about it, asking how we can leverage kids embracing technology in education. And that’s the pace of change in the world now - 30 days – so we have got to embrace that and be adaptable and flexible like that in education. We need to teach how kids want to learn.”
