Ercan Kamber Joins Angi as Chief Data Officer

(USA and Canada) Ercan Kamber has been named the first Chief Data Officer of Angi, formerly known as Angie’s List. Dr. Kamber was most recently the Data Leader for Twitter's discovery and connection organization. Dr. Kamber managed more than a dozen teams at Twitter that worked on the company's most important products, including the home timeline, new user experience, search, explore, and topics. Dr. Kamber's role at Angi will be to develop and implement a world-class central data strategy that provides innovations, solutions, and benefits to both households and professionals.

Angi provides unmatched insight into the approximately $600 billion home services sector in the United States, with over 250,000 pros across 500 jobs. They operate in virtually every zip code, as well as 32 million annual project requests from homeowners. Dr. Kamber's new post will see him managing the company's data strategy, analysis, and operations, as well as spearheading the company's efforts to gather and operationalize those insights. The appointment underscores Angi's commitment to developing a world-class senior leadership team, and it comes on the heels of the company's recent additions of a Chief Marketing Officer and a Chief Financial Officer.

Dr. Kamber comes to Angi with over 12 years of data science experience. Prior to joining Twitter, he oversaw Microsoft's data science and machine learning teams and was the Chief Technology Officer of RAID Computing, an enterprise storage business. Dr. Kamber graduated from Bogazici University with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Master of Science in Physics, as well as a Ph.D. in Physics from Brandeis University.
