Diogo Rau to Replace Aarti Shah, Ph.D as Chief Digital and Information Officer of Eli Lilly

Eli Lilly has announced that Diogo Rau will join the company in mid-May as its Senior Vice-President and Chief Information and Digital Officer. Rau succeeds Aarti Shah, who is retiring after 27 years of service to the company.

Rau headed the information technology for Apple’s retail and online stores and has worked for the company for more than 10 years. He also led Apple in developing its online and retail store technology including the e-commerce platform, mobile point of sale, online store app, and internal systems used by retail store employees.

Prior to his employment at Apple, Rau was a member of McKinsey's Business Technology practice, where he led the North American technology organization and governance practice.

Rau aims to tap machine learning to create many opportunities for Eli Lilly and to strengthen the company’s relationship with patients and physicians through technology.
