Country CDO Ambassador for the nation of Argentina Announced

(Latin America) We are pleased to announce Maria Espona accepted the position of Country CDO Ambassador of Argentina as part of our global partnership representing the MIT CDOIQ, the International Society of Chief Data Officers, Institute for Chief Data Officers, and CDO Magazine.

Maria works at SCK-CEN as an Expert on Export control on strategic goods and as a Professor of Science and Technology for many national and private universities in Argentina.  

Espona is co-director of Information Quality in Argentina, a nonprofit organization promoting information quality methodology in Spanish-speaking countries. She teaches graduate courses in science and technology, disarmament, information quality, and digital intelligence at Argentine universities including the National Defense School and has published widely on weapons of mass destruction, especially biological weapons.

She received a doctorate in criminology at the University of Granada, Spain, in 2019 a master’s degree in terrorism studies from UNIR Spain, in 2013, and also holds a degree in biology from Argentina’s University of Buenos Aires.

Maria Espona is highly recognized in the field of science, technology, and information quality, receiving the 2011 Award in Recognition of Outstanding Contribution to Argentina Information Quality and the 2010 Leadership Award by the MIT IQ Program, both from the MIT IQ Program.
