Karkera is a data-driven technology strategist with more than 20 years of leadership experience in data management, processing and platforms. Working at the intersection of technology and public policy, Karkera has an enthusiasm for taking on complex data problems in a timely and cost-effective manner, making the right data available and scalable, leading cross-functional initiatives and driving digital transformation efforts.
At Deloitte, Karkera advises public sector chief data officers across a wide array of government agencies, providing guidance and insight into cutting-edge data and AI strategies. She also serves as a fellow for Deloitte’s AI Institute for Government, helping federal, state and local agencies use AI ethically to bolster technology platforms, improve operations and enhance the delivery of citizen services.
Prior to joining Deloitte, Karkera spent 20 years serving the State of Arkansas, starting as a database administrator and eventually earning an appointment as the deputy state chief data officer, where she led Arkansas to many firsts – including the adoption of a data-driven culture to improve the effectiveness of government programs and agency decision making.
