(US and Canada) BNY Mellon, a global investment company providing financial services and asset management solutions, has appointed Sal Marraccino as Divisional Chief Data Officer, Managing Director. Marraccino is a highly accomplished business transformation and data executive with a proven track record of over 20 years.

Before joining BNY Mellon, Marraccino served as Head of Enterprise Data Governance and Architecture at Verizon, where he was responsible for various key initiatives, including establishing policies, processes, and platforms to maximize the value derived from data. He also played a crucial role in creating and maintaining an enterprise data fabric that contributed to both top-line growth and bottom-line reduction. Marraccino also previously served as Deputy Chief Data Officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.

With extensive experience in financial services and telecommunications, he has successfully built and led global teams delivering measurable achievements. His key skills encompass various areas including business transformation, change management, data governance, enterprise data management, data quality, data privacy, strategy and planning, risk management, and technology delivery.

Marraccino's passion lies in constructing privacy-compliant data and AI products and organizations that generate value for consumers and key stakeholders. In his previous roles, he spearheaded the establishment of data organizations from the ground up for two Fortune 100 companies and a government institution.
