(US and Canada) Bojan Duric, Chief Data Officer, City of Virginia Beach, speaks with Denise Collison, SVP President of Public Sector Sales, SHI International, in a video interview about the need for investment in data analytics talent and the role of AI in value delivery.
According to Duric, investing in data analytics can help organizations get more value from their data, but they need more analysts.
He explains that being data-driven is about understanding the risk of not using data and also using data incorrectly. Elaborating further, he says that the value can differ depending on the organization, its maturity level, and its definition of value.
Duric notes that key components of leveraging data include making it accessible to all levels and investing in talent to develop professionally and personally.

Sharing his views on the role of AI in value delivery, Duric says that the technology will be embedded in many tools, but the critical piece is the data lineage. He predicts that AI will be a crucial part of catalog discovering tools.
