VIDEO | Caserta Founding CEO, Partner McKinsey & Company: Imagination Is Your Only Limitation

(US and Canada) Joe Caserta, Partner at McKinsey & Company and founding Caserta CEO, speaks with Ben Beshear, CEO and Private Wealth Advisor, LiveWell Capital - Northwestern Mutual, in a video interview about Caserta’s business, the future of AI, and the need for teaching soft skills.

Regarding industries in which his company has had the most success, Caserta says financial services is at the top, followed by other sectors like media and entertainment, manufacturing, agriculture, and the government. He adds that an additional benefit of his company’s merger with  McKinsey is that both organizations have been domain agnostic regarding clients.

Next, he speaks about the future of the wealth management business and the human-digital balance. Caserta highlights the creative usage of alternative data to predict the market. He cites the example of using satellite images to count cars in a parking lot to figure out business performance before quarterly financials are released.

Caserta adds that while imagination is the only limitation and there are ample possibilities for technologies like augmented reality and advanced chatbots, the need for a trustworthy human to do business with whom to do business will remain constant.

When asked if there is a sufficient impetus for teaching relationship building and other soft skills, Caserta says there is a need for developing programs at the community level, specifically for teaching people how to socialize. He mentions two critical reasons for creating such programs:

  1. To maintain a livable society.

  2. The ability to socialize will become human beings’ biggest differentiator.

In conclusion, Caserta stresses there is a huge growth opportunity for data and AI in education because there is a need to understand individual learning styles and adapt teaching to them. According to Caserta, machines are great at adapting and AI can deliver adaptive learning through the individualized curriculum.
