Record-Breaking Bounty to Benefit CCHMC

Kindervelt #19 held its most successful annual Lunch at the Links fundraiser to date – "Boots and Bling" – at Heritage Club in Mason in late April, raising an estimated $43,000 for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC).

"It was a great event!" says Kindervelt #19 President Jeanne Reisinger. "We are very happy with the turnout." All members, she noted, played a part in the planning process.

Kindervelt #19 is just one of the many groups within Heritage Club, each with its own purpose, goals and humanitarian outlook, explains Michelle Tegge, Director of Marketing and Membership.

"Heritage Club is so much more than a great country club," she says. "We offer a beautiful and challenging golf course topped off with an incredible dining experience, but what really separates us from the competition is the membership. Giving back to the community is a priority for Heritage Club members. They have compassion for the community around them. This is illustrated through all their various philanthropic endeavors. The work of Kindervelt #19 specifically stands out because they have remained consistent through the years with their annual Lunch at the Links fundraiser."

More than 130 women attended the festivities, which included the Silverado Stampede silent auction, Cowgirl’s Paradise main raffle, a Beer and Booze Bonanza raffle and Wild West Winery wine pull. "The Best Little Bling House in Mason" featured an assortment of jewelry, scarves, handbags and other accessories for sale. Attendees arrived dressed in Western-style garb, which added to the festive atmosphere.

Heritage Club donated a four-course dinner with wine pairings to the silent auction, compliments of Chef Jeffrey Brown, and Head Golf Professional Mike Murphy donated a golf foursome, Reisinger notes. The site was also a great draw for people to come and see the property following its major remodeling, completed in 2017.

Reisinger credits this year’s record-breaking final fundraising total to an increase in sponsorships and in overall donation generosity.

"Our Gold Rush Sponsor this year was the Kings Island Full-Time Employees. They were so very generous, and we so appreciate being one of two local charities the group wanted to give to this year," she adds.

Founding members and original co-presidents Rita Armentrout and Janet Potts established Kindervelt #19 in September 2004. Although they have passed their leadership torches to other members, both Armentrout and Potts remain involved in the organization. "Our ability to bring in new members across a wide age range keeps our energy high and the creative ideas flowing," Reisinger notes. As always, the organization remains committed to its motto: Having Fun While Raising Funds.

Kindervelt is comprised of many neighborhood and other common-interest groups connected by a central, city-wide board of trustees. As the largest auxiliary of CCHMC, it’s recognized as one of Greater Cincinnati’s outstanding volunteer organizations. This year, Kindervelt-sponsored donations support the Kindervelt Psychiatric Emergency Assessment Center (KV PEACe).
